Looks like it's starting off as a grey day!  Yesterday started that way and then cleared up, but the WIND!   So far this year it seems that anytime the sun comes out the wind picks up!  Good for hanging the laundry though! 

April 3, 2010 - POWER FAILURE!!!

Yesterday morning the wind was howling! We heard a few loud bangs and then the power was out! It's 11:00 am next day and power has still not been restored. Seems all of Sooke is out as well! Thank goodness we have our generator. Eric worked very hard to install it when we first bought the house and this is the first time we have needed to use it for more than an hour! It is a beautiful thing! Able to make dinner, shower, watch tv, blog on the computer! Just sitting watching the ducks and one goose on our neighbors lawn. Very disturbing about the goose, there were two of them last week and now for the last two days I have only seen the one. I'm worried what has happened to the other!? Sick? Dead? Very sad!

Raining on and off all day. Good day to do taxes! Yesterday got some weeding done, moved a few plants around. Mergansers are romancing on the river today. Will post pictures as soon as I can load them on the computer!
Plum tree in the back yard is just starting to bud, plum tree in front yard is losing it's petals. Quince tree smells divine and is attracting the bumble bees and the hummingbirds. The hummingbirds are getting used to the feeder I hung last weekend and were buzzing over my head yesterday as I worked in the garden. They are quite small and look like babies.
